I've been getting back into watercolor lately. It's a medium I've dabbled with on and off over the years but I've never managed to stick with any one for very long. This time though I've found a relatively cheap and very portable solution. The combination of a
watercolor block, a little box of
watercolor cakes and a
water brush make for almost instant painting where ever you are and can all be had for under $25. I've always loved the rough paper texture and chaotic interaction of the paint as it goes on. It's almost like you don't have to do anything but put the brush to paper and it paints itself. Here's hoping I last more than the usual couple of weeks on any medium.
