Update: I scrapped the original, inked a new version then did this vectorization and decided I liked it best amongst the three. Thanks for the nice comments on the first one that motivated me to go back and redo it from scratch to make it better.

Hmm, I never thought of it that way. I just gravitate towards more neutral tones without thinking about it. I wonder if there's any historical study of colors used in different periods according to culture and technology? It might be pretty interesting!
